Community-Requested Features and Bug Fixes

These updates are for app features and bug fixes that are commonly requested by the Pioneer community. These updates do not include the wider scope of features or bugs that the Core Team works on, like the Node, Testnet, Pi Wallet, platform etc.

 

November 2021 Deployments

DEPLOYED - Name update “appeal” for minor corrections- There will be an in-app feature to allow a Pioneer to request for an appeal of the name update information, where the Pioneer can document the correct information about the name on their identification document and explain the mistake that was made. A complete name change will not be allowed, and only minor corrections may be acceptable. An appeal will need to be processed, and it can be accepted or rejected.

FEATURE - Phone Number Change - There will be an in-app feature to allow a Pioneer to change their phone number.

BUG - Phone number sign-in - In the sign in process, a user enters their phone number and password, and then they receive the registration page, when they expect to either log into the account or to receive an error message.

BUG - Security Circle - When trying to add another Pioneer to the Security Circle from the phone contacts, an error message states, “user can't be added”.

BUG - Can’t Add Number - When trying to add a phone number to the Pi account, an error message states “Can’t add this number”.

Waiting In Queue

FEATURE - Username Change - There will be a process in place to allow a Pioneer to make a request to change their username. This will only be restricted to cases where the username is a privacy/security concern or contains vulgarity.

BUG - SMS Text - Phone verification or account recovery requires a Pioneer to send an SMS text. After sending the text, either nothing happens, or there is an infinite spinner with the message “Waiting for verification”. More solutions will come.

BUG - User Already Exists - When trying to verify a Facebook account to the Pi account, an error message states “A user already exists with this Facebook account”.

BUG- Ping Inactive - Some Pioneers may receive an error message after clicking on “PING INACTIVE”. This may affect Pioneers with larger earning teams.

October 2021 Deployments

FIXED - Remove from chat - Within the Earning Team Chat room of a Pioneer, a Pioneer should be able to use the “Remove from chat” feature to see a list of members and choose to remove a member from their own earning team chat room.

August 2021 Deployments

FIXED - Forced Facebook Login - If a user loses access to their Facebook account and has a phone number/password on the account, then the user should be able to login with their phone number and password. - 1 cause fixed.

June 2021 Deployments

DEPLOYED - Another attempt to ping inactives - Some Pioneers may receive an error message after clicking on “PING INACTIVE”, and if you receive an error message, this new feature will allow you a second attempt to ping inactives.

May 2021 Deployments

FIXED - Android Fingerprint login - On the Pi Wallet, the fingerprint login for Android users does not work at all or has stopped working. - One cause fixed. Please ensure that you have all recent updates of your phone and the Pi Browser. Also, try entering into the wallet with the passphrase to check if the fingerprint will work later. Older models of Androids may still experience this issue, but the issue should be temporary.

April 2021 Deployments

DEPLOYED - 3 New Phone Numbers Added for Verification - A phone number for Poland, Switzerland, and Australia have been added to help more Pioneers verify their phone number to bring the current total to 7. The 4 other phone numbers include US, UK, Belgium, and Israel. This is one fix that resolves the SMS Text BUG for some Pioneers.

FIXED - Ping Inactive - Some Pioneers may receive an error message after clicking on “PING INACTIVE”. This may affect Pioneers with larger earning teams. After the fix, when a Pioneer clicks “PING INACTIVE,” their mining team members will receive a notification to mine. - 1 cause was fixed.

FIXED - No Biometrics Option for Wallet - On the Pi Wallet, some phone models with biometric abilities did not show the option to use biometrics to unlock the wallet. After the fix, if the phone has a biometric ability, the should be an option to use it to unlock the wallet. - 1 cause was fixed.

March 2021 Deployments

DEPLOYED - Delete Account - There is an in-app feature to allow a Pioneer to delete their account. To access this feature, log into your account, go to the menu in the upper left corner, then go to the “Profile” page, and click on the button “SEE HOW” to start the process.

DEPLOYED - Chat Spam Report - A Pioneer will be able to help report spam on new chat users in the Pi chat rooms.

February 2021 Deployments

FIXED - Facebook Messenger Invitation Link - When an iOS user received an invitation link in a message through Facebook Messenger and clicked on the invitation link, they received the error message, “Something went wrong.” After the fix, the invitee should be able to see your invitation page and download the app, after they click on the link in the message. - 1 cause was fixed.

FIXED - KYC Bug 4 - Invite Disappears- The KYC invite notice "disappears," if the Pioneer does not start the process right away or closes and reopens the app later. - 1 cause was fixed. More instructions were added.

FIXED - KYC Bug 1 - Stuck After Submit - After receiving the Pi in-app KYC invite form, a Pioneer chooses their country and documents, and then click the “SUBMIT” button, and then either nothing happens, or they see “Thank you for answering!” but then nothing happens. - 1 cause was fixed.

January 2021 Deployments

FIXED - 12-hour Notification Bug - The mining reminder notifications came every 12 hours. After the fix, Pioneers should receive the mining notification after 24 hours at the end of the mining session. - 1 cause was fixed.

FIXED - Earning Team Menu Selection Bug - When trying to select a setting in the Earning Team filter, a Pioneer may have needed to click around the menu rather than directly on the menu. After the fix, a Pioneer should be able to select the menu item as expected when they touch their selection.
